About Birds of Texas

A New Field Guide for Texas

The Birds of Texas is a new field guide to the birds of Texas by Timber Press. The Birds of Texas will be available July 2025

About the Author

David Sarkozi has been watching and studying birds since middle school when he read about Kenn Kaufmann's big year. He has been an active birder for more than 35 years now. He has been Chairman of the Houston Outdoor Nature Club Ornithology Group, was one of the founders of the Friends of Anahuac Refuge, and served as president of the Texas Ornithological Society. He has lead hundreds of field trips across Texas and in Central America.
